SISL Week IV

Week 4 SISL Recap: Fowlie’s Masterclass Lifts Raccoons Over Kryptonite

The Raccoons and Kryptonite faced off in a Week 4 showdown that turned into a high-scoring showcase of offensive firepower. While Kryptonite mounted a spirited comeback late in the game, they simply had no answer for the Raccoons’ Erik Fowlie, who put on a clinic with a double hat trick.

Period 1: Raccoons Sprint Out the Gate

The opening frame was a whirlwind of scoring, dominated largely by the Raccoons’ top line. Fowlie wasted no time, netting two quick goals off feeds from Paul Sanders and Tom Stastny. Tom then added an unassisted tally of his own to push the lead to 3-0.

Kryptonite showed signs of life when Andy Xie found the back of the net, but the Raccoons answered right back. By the time the buzzer sounded on the first period, the Raccoons held a commanding lead, punctuated by Fowlie completing his first hat trick of the night.

Period 2: Tightening the Screws

The second period saw a significant defensive adjustment from both sides. Scoring slowed to a crawl as the goalies settled in. Fowlie managed to slip through for a sensational unassisted goal—his fourth of the contest—while Kryptonite’s Xie notched his second of the game to keep his team within striking distance.

Period 3: The Troy Surge and the Final Word

Kryptonite refused to go away quietly in the final frame. Troy took over the game for a stretch, recording a natural hat trick to put the Raccoons on their heels. Supported by Rico Reay, who racked up four assists on the night, Kryptonite pulled the game within reach.

However, the night belonged to Erik Fowlie. Just as Kryptonite threatened to tie it up, Fowlie struck for his fifth and sixth goals of the game, both orchestrated by the trio of Sanders and Stastny. The Raccoons’ chemistry proved too much to overcome, sealing the victory in a Week 4 thriller.

Both Marat Abishev (Raccoons) and Kim Lidberg (Kryptonite) earned league-wide praise for their acrobatic performances in the night’s earlier contest, setting a high bar for goaltending intensity that carried through the evening.

Week 4 SISL Recap: Panwar’s Overtime Heroics Seal Raiders’ Shootout Win

In a game that felt more like a video game than an inline hockey match, the Raiders and Tsunami combined for a staggering offensive explosion in Week 4. In a back-and-forth affair where no lead was safe, it took an extra frame for Kapil Panwar to finally put an end to the madness, securing a hard-fought victory for the Raiders.

Period 1: Trading Blows

The Tsunami jumped out to an early lead behind Kevin Makela, who found the net twice in the opening minutes. However, the Raiders’ Fabian Goebel answered the call with a pair of goals of his own. The period was a microcosm of the entire game: every time one team gained momentum, the other had an immediate answer. By the time Adam Williams scored late in the first, the tone was set for a high-scoring marathon.

Period 2: Raiders Take the Advantage

The middle frame saw the Raiders find their rhythm. CJ Gamble and Brandon Vick began to dissect the Tsunami defense, with Brandon picking up four assists across the first two periods. Despite Makela completing a hat trick for the Tsunami, the Raiders’ depth scoring—including a goal from Tawan Srinakorn and a multi-goal surge from Vick—gave them a slight edge heading into the final period.

Period 3: The Tsunami Surges Back

The third period was pure chaos. The Raiders appeared to have things under control after Gable notched his fourth goal, but the Tsunami lived up to their name, flooding the offensive zone. Paul Gomes erupted for a hat trick in the final frame alone, while Makela added his fourth of the night.

In a frantic final few minutes, Adam Simpson scored to pull the Tsunami even, erasing what looked like a comfortable Raiders lead. But Kapil Panwar answered, scoring on a long shot in the final seconds to send the game into sudden-death overtime.

Overtime: Kapil Ends It

With the game on the line and fatigue setting in, Kapil Panwar took matters into his own hands. After already recording a hat trick in regulation, Kapil broke loose for an unassisted goal in the extra period, firing the puck home to end the shootout and secure the extra point for the Raiders.
